Το 2005 το αμερικάνικο hip hop συγκρότημα "Black Eyed Peas" (μέλη του γκρουπ: ο Will.i.am, ο Apl.de.ap, ο Taboo και η Fergie)έδωσε νέα πνοή στη Μισιρλού με την κυκλοφορία του δίσκου τους "Monkey Business". Σαμπλάροντας τη μελωδία της Μισιρλούς (στην εκτέλεση του Dick Dale),με νέους στίχους και προσθέτοντας χιπ χοπ και ραπ στοιχεία οι "Black Eyed Peas" έφτιαξαν το κομμάτι "Pump It", και έφεραν έτσι την Μισιρλού σε επαφή με τις νεότερες ηλικίες, που ακούνε αυτό το είδος της μουσικής.
